Significantly broadening the participation of students in Food, Energy, and Water Systems (FEWS) education and careers to address critical challenges facing Native American communities
Our Mission STAR School is a public charter school located in rural Northern Arizona and serves a student population that is 99% Native American, mainly from the nearby Navajo Nation. As a proud FEWS partner, STAR is focused on food sovereignty and Indigenizing STEM curricula. STAR promotes culturally relevant farm and nutrition education curricula to teach students about health through exposure to fresh fruits and veggies. Food sovereignty teaches students how to grow food successfully in their local climate.
